BAD PIERCERS!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRR i say, I had a few piercing done by a woman piercing in my home town back before I knew better. I had fangs done to my tongue and and induestrial in my left ear. The industrial she put in a bad spot and my ear is trying to grow over it and my tongue, she did from the bottom up (to avoid the viens i know, but any piercer of any skill can avoid the veins gowing top to bottom). I recently went with a friend (she insisted on her piercing her because she was family) and when i casually commented on it (I say casually because i would never go and tell a piercer that they are wrong because alot of things are opinion) she freaked on me. Telling me that anyone who doesnt do thing exactly like her are idiots. Why is it so damn hard to find a good piercer? Not only a talented person with a needle but an open minded individual who can take critism. I repeat GRRRRRRRRRRR

huh i got my tongue pierced from bottom to top too.. but that hadn't caused problems... why do u think your problems are because of the direction?
about the rest... many piercers consider themselves the best and often they actually suck a lot.. the worst is when they do not accept they have made a mistake. it's not only the piercing skills that matter here. of course they're the essential... but a good piercer is not only a talented, skillful one but also someone who knows how to threat his/her clients. some one who doesnt care about the complaints of the clients is NOT a good piercer.

I totally agree with what your saying. A good piercer has to be the full meal deal.
The problem with bottom to top is it hurts so much more. Now granted most ppl a tongue piercing dont hurt much to begin with but me and three others i know have extremely sensitive tongues. And being piercing from the bottom up seriously felt like i was being peirced twice for each one. When i had them redone (because they were very crooked) the guy did them top to bottom and they still hurt but way way less. I forgot to mention another problem i had with her and a few other piercers i know. I was nervous about the top of my industrail when she was doing it because the first time i had it done on my other ear it hurt like hell right. So i told her i wanted to like work my self up to it (ya i know im a panzy) and she told me see was just gonna mark it out with a pen so she knew where to pierce while i thought about it. I was just about to say screw it and just have one helix with the first whole she had pierced. Just as i opend my mouth to tell her she pierced me. I was totally taken by surprise. Now she and the other piercers say they do that to make it easier on the client right. But body art is very personal and if your not totally sure you shouldnt have to have it done. what im saying is that i should know exactly when that needle is going thru me and be willing at that time.

No matter how long it takes you hafta check the persons experience and credentials. ALL of my piercings,except for my ears which were done when I was younger, were done by the same piercer. I wouldnt trust or go to anyone else but her because she knows me and I know how she works and how experienced she is. If you go in a piercing studio and things feel hinky,leave! Dont think your obligated to have them work on you because in the end your the one that has to live with it.
