Hey yall I'm going to get my snake bites next week. I've talked to a few people that have lip rings but not snake bitesl ike I want. I'd really love it if yall could tel me your experiences with it. How long did it take you to heal? How long do I have to wait till I can kiss my boyfriend after getting them done? Things like that.
Thank you,
~Katy

Well I've had mine done for about 5 years, but I got them done seperatly which I think was better in the long run. I will tell you that at first it's going to take a little getting used to. You might not be able to pronounce your F's and V's for a little while. and drinking without a straw will get to you at first. It's all stuff that you learn to live with and it's not too big of a deal. Healing isn't too bad either, just be careful what you eat the first few days, no hot sauce, no nacho cheese (the melty kind), and chocolate hurts too. Just use listerine after you eat, drink, smoke, or do anything with your mouth and for the outside (the part that's not in your mouth), use dial anti-bacterial soap 2-3 times a day for the first two weeks of healing and once a day for the remainder of the healing time. It takes about 6 weeks for them to heal. They should be fine as long as you take care of them.

i was going to get snake bites, but the piercer convinced me to getting just one and letting it heal then going and doing the other one later. Thank god that he did because its a lot to take care of. I kissed my girlfriend like a week in a half after getting it pierced , but just make sure to be gentle and careful. and wash your mouth with diluted listerine afterwards to kill the germs. but doin them at seperate times is deff the way to go.my lip just healed and its been about a month,

Well... I had a lip ring a year long before I made the second one. I think that it's better to do them separately cause you have time to make them heal (Of course the long distance of time was because at first i didn't like snake bites) I read the re-posts and it shocked me when sb said about drinking throught a straw??!! I had NO problems with eating, drinking after making the piercings. They healed after 2 weeks! I remember that after making the first labret I went straight to a party and nothing happened. Believe me- it's not so bad:)
sorry for my English typeing skills.

Hey Its been a bit since you posted this, but I'm new to the site so I thought I'd say hi, I got my snake bites....but I always called them viper bites, maybe its a west coast thing, but anyways I got them at the beginning of august so I've had them about 2 1/2 months now, and they are healing up good. I just swapped out the rings last weekend for studs, and I'm going to switch back to the rings soon, cuz the flat plate on the studs catch my teeth too much. but otherwise I love them. Dont see too many people with them. as far as kissing, they'll probably tell you 4-6 weeks before oral contact, but as long as you take care of them and and keep listerene handy, just dont be too rough with them. hope you like 'em.

Doesnt hurt.
Took a week to heal. Not completely. But decently healed.
Stopped hurting after 2 days.
Waited to kiss about a week.
Regret getting them (scars)..
